Thanks for the question! Yes, you’ll need to use an estimate until you receive your W-2 and can file your taxes. We still recommend filing the FAFSA now so that you can get as much aid as possible, but you’ll need to return and finalize your information once you have the W-2 and can complete your taxes. How can you have your taxes filed for 2011 before the end of 2011? I don’t usually receive my W2 forms until late January.u00a0 Getting a jump on filing the FAFSA is a great idea, but I don’t understand how it’s possible without estimating taxes until at least January 31.
