With the calendar turning to 2012 and your college applications in the mail, it’s once again time to start thinking about financial aid. So how do you get your hands on some extra cash for college? If you haven’t already, be sure to file your FAFSA to make sure you get the Federal aid you need. Once that’s out of the way, it’s time to start looking for scholarship opportunities. Fortunately, we’re here to give you a cheat sheet to finding some great scholarships with upcoming deadlines.

NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program
Deadline: January 17, 2012
Award: $15,000+ (25 available)
Eligibility: Undergraduate Students with at least two (2) years of full time study left to complete at an accredited U.S. college or university as of Fall 2012, Graduate Students who have received or areon track to receive their bachelor’s degrees by Fall 2012, or they may be currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program but will not receive their degree until Spring 2014 or after.

Ronald Reagan College Leaders Scholarship Program
Deadline: January 17, 2012
Award: up to $10,000
Eligibility: This program is limited to undergraduate degree candidates at accredited, 4-year degree-granting institutions in the United States or its possessions who have successfully completed their first (or freshman) year and have begun their second (or sophomore) year of study.

Ronald McDonald House Charity Scholarships
Deadline: January 27, 2012
Award: Scholarship amounts vary and are at the discretion of participating RMHC Chapters and Board of Directors.
Eligibility: Scholarships are for students in the United States living in areas where there are participating local RMHC Chapters who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.

College Net Price Calculator Student Video Challenge
Deadline: January 31, 2012
Award: $1,500 (3 available)
Eligibility: Contestants may be students or groups of students. Contestants must be enrolled in a high school, college or university in the 2011-2012 academic year to participate. To enter, students must submit a video that will inform students and families of a new resource (the Net Price Calculator) that makes it easier to calculate how much it might cost to go to a particular college.

Deadline: February 6, 2012
Award: $10,000
Eligibility: Female students entering the senior year of undergraduate study or be enrolled in a graduate program in the 2012-2013 academic year at a university in the United States. Applicants must be enrolled in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering program, or a closely related technical field as a full-time student for the 2012-2013 academic year and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or 4.5 on a 5.0 scale or equivalent.

Deadline: February 15, 2012
Award: $1,000 (up to 1,200 available)
Eligibility: High school students who are U.S. Citizens and plan to enroll in an accredited college or university. Scholarship is awarded to a students with a GPA of over 2.5 (out of 4.0) and demonstrated commitment to and involvement in community volunteer service or work experience.
