NYC-Turing-Fellows-ProgramEngineering students who are looking for a paid summer internship in New York can apply to the Turing Fellows Program for consideration. The program officially launched yesterday.

The Turing Fellows Program places computer science and engineering students in paid, summer-long internships based in New York. Students who are accepted will be placed at well-known startups, including Foursquare – a geo-based social networking game – and Tumblr, a popular micro-blogging platform.

Fellows will also receive a $5000 scholarship and access to events.

The list of participating startups can be viewed here.

From the NYC Turing Fellowship website:

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis starting on January 17, 2011 until the final deadline of midnight on February 7, 2011, so please submit your application early for best consideration. Candidates will be selected by February 14, 2011, and those selected to receive fellowships will be invited to NYC in early March – travel and hotel expenses to be paid by NYC Turing – to meet participating startups and arrange internships.

Internships are arranged at the discretion of participating startup companies and selected NYC Turing Fellows. Students are not guaranteed to place for a paid internship.
