SCCE to Host Concert for Credit Education
On Sunday, August 28, the Student Credit Card Education Initiative (SCCE) will host an event for college students called Music for Change, at Sullivan Hall in New York City. Artists performing at the event will share financial literacy tips with students. Admission to the concert is free, and the SCCE is raffling off a grand prize of $1000.
The concert features five artists : BLKVAMPIRES, (i am) isis, DASO, GOLDENCHILD & THE CHOSEN, and ELLINA GRAYPEL, who will share their music, tips, and information for students throughout the event, which is scheduled from 5pm to 11PM.
According to an article in the Huffington Post, the artists sharing and performing will speak from their own experiences with money management. “All of these musicians were drawn to the cause due to their personal finance histories,” writes Attiya Anthony, a journalist and social activist who currently freelances for the L magazine in New York.
More information about the concert can be found on the event’s Facebook page. Artists and others who have RSVP’d for the event have already started sharing tips and information via Facebook.
SCCE provides colleges and universities with a free webpage for their students, who can participate in an online financial literacy course and take an exam. Students who complete and pass the exam receive a Certificate of Achievement. For more information about the SCCE, visit http://www.credit-land.com/studenteducation/.
