Take Care of Your Textbook Needs in the Student Loan Marketplace!

May 4, 2012 | posted by College Money Insider.

As we mentioned last month, there are options for obtaining a textbook beyond your typical campus bookstore. Since buying textbooks can be an expensive proposition, it’s very important for students to shop around and find the best price possible. Problem is, searching through all the options can be a tedious and overwhelming experience.

In an effort to bring together all your options in one place, the Student Loan Marketplace is proud to announce the launch of our new textbook price comparison tool. Along with your campus bookstore price, the tool will give you prices from the most well-known used, rental, and digital textbook providers, including Amazon.com, Half.com, Chegg.com, BookRenter.com, Kindle, and CourseSmart in one convenient location.

Another cool thing about the tool is that in addition to letting you search for textbooks via ISDN or title, it allows you to search by the actual course you’re taking. This will remove the hassle of typing in long codes/names for each book, and should expedite your textbook search process. The tool supports over 400 universities in the US and Canada and will be growing to 1000 within the near future.

With summer session about to begin in a few weeks, we hope you can save yourself some major headaches and some big bucks by using our tool. You can access the textbook comparison tool right here. Happy hunting!
