The Student-Parent Connection: Acceptance!

January 14, 2013 | posted by College Money Insider.

The Student-Parent Connection is a monthly feature here on College Money Insider. During the school year, we have a student and parent share their thoughts and experiences as they save up for college and prepare to go through the college application process. Today’s post is by Jessica Avery!

If you have any tips to help students save up for college, feel free to leave a comment below!

These last couple weeks have been exciting to say the least! I found out from my two top schools that I was accepted! College Of Charleston and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte both updated my portal accounts to “Decision: Accepted”! There are no words to describe the relief I feel. Just to know that I’m going to school next year is the greatest feeling ever.   Next steps include setting up college e-mail addresses, and deciding where I want to get my higher level of education. I have yet to hear back from James Madison University, and my reach school Clemson. It would be awesome if I got into both schools. Maybe I’ll even be accepted to UNC Wilmington, where I got deferred from. Being deferred just means I have to wait until their regular decision in the spring to find out if I was accepted. Getting into several schools that I applied to will be great so that I can have several options. The next few months will be thrilling and full of major decisions, and I am so excited to embark on this new chapter in my life.
